Movies centered on Bollywood do not work - that's a common statement that one would hear on getting into a conversation with those who have been following the industry for years now. Expectedly so because over the years gone by, there have hardly been any successful movies that have a storyline centered on Hindi film industry.
Recent underperformance of LUCK BY CHANCE has been another glaring example about this unfortunate trend where even good movies have failed at the box office due to audience giving cold shoulder to the ones that have Bollywood as a backdrop. Of course there has been a super successful OM SHANTI OM but then it boasted of the presence of a certain superstar that went by the name of Shah Rukh Khan.

In such times arrives DHOONDTE REH JAAOGE which doesn't just have Bollywood as it's backdrop but also has a storyline which is about the making of a Bollywood film itself. The movie is centered on the characters played by Kunal Khemu and Paresh Rawal who are on a mission to make a film which is the most horrible, boring, stupid and nonsensical movie ever made. And in their mission of this, they also rope in an unsuspecting Sonu Sood and Soha Ali Khan as the actors who are completely unaware about this plan of theirs.
So why a plan which is a money-loosing preposition? Well, for that one has to check out the film to know more but the fact remains that Bollywood by itself forms the backbone of DHOONDTE REH JAAOGE that spoofs everything from a SHOLAY to a DILWALE DULHANIYA LE JAYENGE to a JOSH to a GADAR to a DEEWAR to many more!
A medium budgeted film which is being released with limited publicity, DHOONDTE REH JAAOGE is the next in line that is trying its luck to find audiences who don't mind watching a film with Bollywood as its backdrop. Let's hope that with this Umesh Shukla directed film, the jinx finally breaks when it releases all over on 6th March!
