Prachi, Aamna and now Rucha - Television comes closer to Bollywood

What's common between Prachi Desai, Aamna Shariff and Rucha Gujarathi? Well, each of the three young women started her career with television and has now made her first step into Bollywood. Prachi did it last year with ROCK ON and began her big screen journey with aplomb. Aamna too seems to be confident about making inroads into Bollywood with her upcoming ALOO CHAAT.
However, there is another young entrant, Rucha Gujarathi, who also comes from the television medium, and is soon going to make her Bollywood debut. Surprisingly though, there isn't much buzz about her entry into the film world in spite of her being paired opposite first Indian Idol - Abhijeet Sawant! Now that's ironic considering the fact that even for Abhijeet, the film LOTTERY acts as an important platform from where he begins his Bollywood sojourn.

Coming to Rucha, she has been seen extensively on television so far with appearances in tele-serials like KKUSUM, BHABHI, WAARIS, WAQT BATAYGA KAUN APNA KAUN PARAYA, SHH PHIR KOYI HAI and the reality dance show SAAS V/S BAHU. Moreover not many are aware that Rucha had in fact started her career as a child artiste and did a few movies like DANCER, SAHABZAADE, HUM HAIN KAMAAL KE, KANYADAAN and SHIKAARI in her initial years of facing the camera.
This is not all as apart from doing a weekly breakfast time serial called TAK DHINA DHIN and featuring in innumerous commercials, Rucha has also starred in music videos of albums by Gurdas Mann, Pankaj Udhas and Vaishali Samant.
Now finally she has managed to reach the big platform with LOTTERY where apart from her, there is another leading lady Manisha Kelkar who is making her debut. A romantic musical thriller, LOTTERY is special for Abhijeet too since other than being the lead protagonist of the film; he has also lent his vocals to as many as three songs.
Directed by Hemant Prabhu, LOTTERY is aiming for a March release.
