Her 'Emosional Attyachar' is topping the charts and rocking the youth, and naturally Mahi Gill is over the moon, with a superlative response to her debut film, DEV D. And hardly a month after the release of her first film, her next, GULAAL, has hit the screens to improving 'by-the-day' collections.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the lucky director of her debut venture, DEV D, GULAAL has Mahi paired opposite Kay Kay. Once again, her role (which she calls a special appearance) is quite a complex one. She plays Kay Kay's mistress who is slightly psychotic and runs her own parlor. Apart from her role, one thing that Mahi is really looking forward to are the two very exciting dance numbers, 'mujraas' to be precise, that she has performed in GULAAL. So, do we have a Rekha in the making? Bold, beautiful, dedicated and a terrific dancer! Well, from the looks of it, certainly yes!

CHECK OUT: MAHI GILL Interview

In fact while shooting for a song sequence in GULAAL, Mahi had a severe back problem but she finished the song in just two hours. Not many will know that Mahi is a trained 'kathak' dancer but she specializes in what she calls freestyle dancing and it was at a party where she was dancing away to glory that Anurag saw her and offered her the role of Paro in DEV D.

Eagerly awaiting the audience feedback on her dance performances (and her acting as well!) in GULAAL, Mahi will be seen in three more films this year, and coincidently, all the three are with top production house, UTV, which has carved out a name for itself in promoting and making intellectually different films.
