Neena Gupta returns to silver screen

| There aren't too many film projects that Neena Gupta has picked over the years gone by. In fact her last notable performance was more than 15 years back in KHALNAYAK (1993) when she created history with 'Choli Ke Peeche'. The film had starred Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit in principal roles.
Now Neena Gupta takes a generation leap and will be seen in a film which stars Upen Patel and debutant Esha Gupta in the lead. Titled HUM AAP AUR PYAAR, the film will mark a comeback for Neena Gupta who was last seen in a small role in the forgettable NAZAR (2005).
Set in South Africa, HUM AAP AUR PYAAR features Neena in the role of Esha Gupta's mother. While the mother-daughter relationship is one of the key aspects to the film, Neena's character plays an integral role in the film's narrative.

Says a source attached to the film, ''It isn't easy to convince Neena to make a comeback to the big screen. However, the script of HUM AAP AUR PYAAR is quite strong and Neena too was impressed when she heard what was narrated to her. She consented to her role and is now looking forward to the start to finish schedule of the film in South Africa.''
Between KHALNAYAK and NAZAR, Neena Gupta was seen in films like ANTH, DUSHMANI and UFF YEH MOHABBAT but each of these films had arrived in the 90s. Meanwhile, over the years, she was busy with her small screen assignments and was doing quite good in the television medium. With HUM AAP AUR PYAAR, she begins her new innings in Bollywood after numerous good performance oriented roles that she enacted in her early years.
