White City Entertainment Pvt Ltd and Mehul Kumar launched their prestigious film KRANTIVEER - The Revolution, the sequel to the Mega-blockbuster KRANTIVEER of 1994 at a glittering event. Shri Amitabh Bachchan, who has worked with Mehul Kumar, made his gracious presence at the launch. Also present were the gorgeous Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Jeetendra apart from host of other dignitaries from Bollywood.
Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia the leading stars of the original Blockbuster KRANTIVEER gave the Mahurat Clap at the glittering event. Entire starcast was there to celebrate the launch of KRANTIVEER - THE REVOLUTION - Jahan Bloch, Sameer Aftab, Kelly Dorji, Ranjit, Farida Jalal, Govind Namdeo, Mukesh Rishi, Aman Verma, Ashok Samarth, Aditya Singh Rajput and Harsh Rajput along with Director Mehul Kumar.
With this film, WHITE CITY ENTERTAINMENT marks its entry in Hindi Cinema with an established name as Mehul Kumar. And they plan to produce at least three Hindi films every year which would range from medium to mega budget films. The original KRANTIVEER which was released in the year 1994 was not only a mega blockbuster but also a winner of the many awards like Three Star Screen Awards, Four Filmfare Awards and one National Film Award.
Present to light the diya along with Mr. Bachchan were Shri J.P DANGE, DEPUTY CHIEF SECRETARY, REVENUE & FOREST, GOVT OF MAHARASHTRA, and Shri JAYANT GAIKWAD SECRETARY FOR CULTURE & TOURISM, Govt. of MAHARASHTRA.
Also making her entry in Bollywood is the young and talented artiste JAHAN BLOCH. Jahan plays daughter of the fiery Nana Patekar in the original KRANTIVEER. Taking the story forward, Jahan plays a fiery journalist who is set to lead the revolution against terrorism, violence and corruption. Joining her in this battle is Sameer Aftab, who plays the lead opposite her. Jahan Bloch is making her Bollywood debut with this movie.
Mehul Kumar the director of KRANTIVEER speaking on the launch said, ''It's really the most memorable moment in my life, since out of the entire movie which I have directed KRANTVEER has always been close to my heart. And the joyous feeling of directing the sequel of the movie is something which is very hard for me to express in word. And also my daughter Jahan making a debut with this movie is also the icing on the cake. What more can I ask, from God?
KRANTIVEER was a film directed by Mehul Kumar, released on July 22, 1994. The film starred artists as Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia, Atul Agnihotri, Mamta Kulkarni, Danny Denzongpa and Paresh Rawal in lead roles. The film was a major critical and commercial success; it became the third highest grossing film of the year, additionally winning three Star Screen Awards, four Filmfare Awards and one National Film Award.
Mehul Kumar an eminent feature film director, producer and writer, has devoted 32 years in film industry since 1977. He has directed some of the most noted actors in Bollywood, such as Raj Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Jitendra, Satrughan Sinha, Feroze Khan, Shabana Aazmi, Tabu, Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia, Madhuri Dixit, Naseeruddin Shah, Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor. Some of his famous works in Bollywood include, JAAGO (2004), KITNE DOOR... KITNE PAAS (2002), KOHRAM (1999), MRITYUDAATA (1997), KRANTIVEER (1994) and TIRANGAA (1992). He is mostly recognized for his cinematic depiction of patriotism in his films.
