Normally, for the first time directors it takes time to get well acquainted with the cast & crew of the film. But for Sudipto Chattopadhyaya, the debutante director of Sanjay Gupta's long time awaited film PANKH who has broken the shackles and gone ahead and made a bold movie, it was one 'homely' environment. And the reason being his Bengali connection!
Wondering how? Well both Sudipto and his actor Bipasha (who plays herself in the movie) are Bengalis and that's why the director-actor duo shared a great rapport on the sets. The two used to converse in Bengali on the sets leaving everyone confused and left out many a times. Soon they turned great friends so much so that Sudipto used to get home cooked Bangla food for Bipasha during the shoots. Both enjoyed their Bangla food and conversing in Bengali. Hope this Bong connection helps the film to fly higher once PANKH releases!
