Last weekend it was Akshay Kumar's 8X110 TASVEER which went on to complete 50 days at theaters in spite of it being the biggest flop ever of Akshay Kumar in the recent times. This weekend it is Abhishek Bachchan's turn as his DELHI 6 enters its 15th week and goes on to complete 100 days at the box office.

It's FLOP tag notwithstanding, the fact remains that this Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is the highest grossing film of the year so far and has even displaced CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA from that position. Not that it is a reason to cheer for any of these two films because in spite of boasting of the biggest collections, they are still box office losers due to high cost and expectations attached to them.

CHECK OUT : Ash-Abhi's Idli magic!

So while CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA folded up under 31 crores, DELHI 6 has done a little better by coming close to the 31.5 crores mark. Of course the collections over last few weeks have been negligible (the film got majority of money coming in it's first 7 weeks run) and during last few weeks, it has been continued at select shows in a few theaters due to lack of any new release.

Any silver lining for the film? Well, the audio CDs of DELHI 6 are still doing reasonably well with A.R. Rahman's music continuing to find patronage. Also the film's DVDs, which have been on the shelves for about a month now, are finding patronage from the gentry.

Though all of this is hardly a consolation, for Abhishek Bachchan it is still a small win at the least to see his film being one of the only few ones in the running when compared with 25 odd other Bollywood flicks that have arrived post it's release.
