Tony: BLUE has recovered its investment

BLUE is in its third week currently and pretty much at the fag end of its theatrical run. Meanwhile Anthony D'souza a.k.a. Tony has also moved on with the satisfaction of his multi crore film managing to sail smooth at the box office.
"BLUE is a success and my producers are happy. They have recovered their investment and have also made a profit, so it's cool at the end of the day", says Tony who regrets though that critics went hammers and tongs on his labour of love.

"I was hurt by the reviews", he confesses, "I don't have anything against critics but they should not have given quotes like - 'Don't watch BLUE, instead watch an X or a Y film'. That's not their job. They should say why they didn't like the film and move on. After that it's audiences who have to decide."
He goes on to add on a diplomatic mode, "I respect the point of view of critics but that should not have been below the belt. I strongly feel that the critics were a little malicious though and their scathing comments were unwarranted. My movie was always meant to be in a 'fast and the furious' mode where there is action, action and more of action."
Adding more in defense of the film, Tony says, "We were never pretentious about BLUE. We always told our audiences what we were giving to them. We never claimed to change the face of Indian cinema. When we are ready with that, we will shout from the rooftops."
