PRATIBHA PATIL and SHIVAJEE CHANDRABHUSHAN

It's rightly said, 'Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in and it will come naturally'. Following this success mantra, Shivajee Chadrabhushan produced and directed his debut movie FROZEN. It is the first black and white movie in India to win the Indira Gandhi National award and 22 international awards. Shivajee got the national award on 21st October 2009 through the hands of Honourable President Pratibha Patil

He began his career producing music videos for Indian TV. But it was his interest in photography and travelling coupled with a love for film making which culminated into a journey to Ladakh. With a firm belief that any project undertaken should be made with love and dedication, Shivajee began the grueling task of producing and directing Frozen- his first feature length film.

Life is never a bed of roses for anyone and neither was it for Shivajee. Right from financing the movie to dealing with people who came with their negative perception that FROZEN is not a typical Bollywood film and it would be impossible to release in India because the audience will never understand the film. He dealt with all of them with a complete effortlessness and a bright smile on his face. Shivajee produced the famous music video 'Channa Vey' which launched Kunal Ganjawala.

Today Frozen is one of those rarest of rare movies in Indian cinema which has set the bench mark for the aspiring directors to think beyond the ordinary and to do their best. FROZEN was released in India on 8th May 2009 and the DVD is scheduled to launch in the last week of November.

Some Major USP's of FROZEN

  • First black and white film to win National awards in the Indira Gandhi Best First Feature category which was constituted in 1981.

  • FROZEN was also in direct competition with Taare Zameen Par for the best Director award for its debut movie in the Indira Gandhi National award

  • FROZEN has also travelled to 30 international film festivals and has won 20 international awards.

  • FROZEN is the only full length feature film shot at Ladakh in winters.
