To avoid any last moment trouble that comes their way when the film is ready for release, the makers of Ajay Devgn starrer ATITHI TUM KAB JAAOGE? have officially bought rights of the story on which it is originally based. Written by noted satirist Late Sharad Joshi, the story is titled 'Tum Kab Jaaoge Atithi' which can be found in Class IX textbook as a part of CBSE curriculum for Hindi.

"Even though it's just a short story made of a few hundred words, we didn't want to take any chances. To avoid any controversy, we approached his daughter and bought rights for the story", says Kumar Mangat, producer of ATITHI TUM KAB JAAOGE? and a close associate of Ajay Devgn.

The story is about an unwanted guest who enters the household of a married couple and lives for a long duration by continuously extending his stay. So much so, that the couple is exasperated and starts praying for his exit. While Ajay Devgn and Konkona Sen play the part of a married couple, Paresh Rawal is the uninvited guest.

Name Sharad Joshi isn't new to those who have followed Hindi literature. Other than writing daily columns for newspapers, books and short stories, he has also been the man behind TV serials like YEH JO HAI ZINDAGI and VIKRAM AUR VETAL. Moreover, he has also written dialogues for movies like DIL HAIK KI MAANTA NAHI (1991), CHHOTI SI BAAT, NAAM (1986) and CHAMELI KI SHAADI (1986).

"With all due respect to the man, I must add that our film is an entirely new take on affairs and just has a basic thread of an individual extended his stay as a guest in a married couple's home", clarifies the man who has earlier made OMKARA, ONE TWO THREE, MONEY HAI TO HONEY HAI, SUNDAY, NO SMOKING and HAAL-E-DIL.

With lyrics by Irshad Kamil and music by Pritam, ATITHI TUM KAB JAAOGE? is all set for a 26th February release.
