| 24thOctober is the most important day for Subhash Ghai and Mukta arts since 1978 when he launched this company with its first film KARZ with Rishi Kapoor, Tina Munim [Ambani] and Simi Garewal on 24th October 1978 which is as fresh in people's mind even today.
"Stars Tina Munim and Rishi Kapoor are our founder members of Mukta Arts and I am proud of them because they are still good friends with me and my company", said Subhash Ghai.
Started 30 years ago, Mukta Arts has produced 34 films with various directors including Subhash Ghai who has written and directed 18 films himself who has a distinguished record of having 14 films as blockbusters and hits out of 18 films since his first directorial film KALICHARAN in 1975 with his friend Shatrughan Sinha. He built up Mukta arts as one of the most reputed companies in the Indian Entertainment Industry and has pioneered many firsts, which has been a benchmark for other companies in many sectors whether its technology or film insurance or making Mukta as first corporate film company in Mumbai, or film education by setting up a world class institute like Whistling Woods International in Mumbai. Subhash Ghai proves success whatever he does.
He is credited to introduce and groom Nine stars of the industry including Tina Munim [KARZ] ,Sanjay Dutt [VIDHATA] ,Meenaxi and Jackie [HERO] Madhuri [RAM LAKHAN], Manisha Koirala [ SAUDAGAR ], Mahima [PARDES], Isha Sharvani [Kisna] and Anuraag Sinha [BLACK N WHITE] where as Anil Kapoor came in Box Office lime light after his film MERI JUNG and Anupam Kher in KARMA.
Now Mukta Arts entertainment is ready to release its two under production films RIGHT YAA WRONG a crime thriller starring Sunny Deol, Irffan Khan, Konkana Sen Sharma and Esha Koppikar directed by Neeraj Pathak to be released by December 2009 and second one is a comedy HELLO DARLING starring Gul Panag, Celina Jaitely, Esha Koppikar & and CYCLE KICK with newcomers.
The most prestigious project for Mukta Arts currently is The Whistling Woods International Institute for Film, Television and Media Arts (WWI the largest in Asia, nestled in Film City on twenty acres of landscaped grounds. Whistling Woods has recently set up a branch in Spain and has also acquired 20 acres of land in prime property in Hyderabad to set up a world-class film and media institute.
Mukta has four films in pipe line to be announced soon including Abbas Mastan, Subhash Ghai two films and one film by graduates of whistling woods titled PASCHIM EXPRESS.
