After winning acclaim at the Bite the Mango Festival [U.K., where it had its world premiere], The Stuttgart Film Festival [Germany], The Atlanta Film Festival [USA], The Kerala Film Festival and the Kalaghoda Film Festival, Ananth Mahadevan directed STAYING ALIVE, was unanimously applauded by the crème-de-la-crème of Mumbai doctors at an exclusive premiere which was held recently for the medical profession in Mumbai.
"We premiered STAYING ALIVE for top surgeons and neurologists and got around 50 of them together. In fact I was quite nervous about the screening since I was exposing myself to some great risk with real doctors seeing STAYING ALIVE which is set in a hospital. It would have been so easy for them to catch those minor nuances related to medical world and then lynch me for my technical goof-ups, if at all", says Ananth who has not just directed the film but also acted in it.
Apparently, it was quite an emotional moment for doctors who had assembled for the premier.
Says Dr. A B Mehta, "STAYING ALIVE is a beautiful film! I could never imagine that what happens outside the ICCU could have such a great impact. All the time we are treating patients and their illnesses but are oblivious to what happens to their families and the emotions they go through in the waiting room. This is a real eye opener for me."
Also starring Saurabh Shukla as the lead protagonist along with Mahadevan, STAYING ALIVE is produced by Ketan Maroo for Shemaroo Entertainment with Chandan Roy Sanyal [Michael in KAMINEY], Navni Parihar and Sunita Chhaya in supporting roles.
