MADHUR BHANDARKAR
Despite protests by certain film makers and industry followers around the release of JAIL on 6th November, film maker Madhur Bhandarkar is refusing to buzz from his stand. He is 100% sure that he is bringing his gritty jail drama on the aforementioned date and is getting ready to kick start the film's promotion from the coming weekend. "There is no question of JAIL being moved ahead. 6th November is final and we have even finalized our plans for the film's promotion", questions Madhur Bhandarkar who was surprised when he got frantic calls from the members of the film fraternity while being on the move in Russia.
CHECK OUT : Madhur Bhandarkar's JAIL locked up for 6th Nov '09 As has been reported earlier, The United Producers and Distributors Forum (UPDF) had asked Madhur Bhandarkar and Sunil Lulla to postpone the releases of their films JAIL and ALADIN respectively as they are clashing with the release of two other big films - AJAB PREM KI GHAJAB KAHANI and LONDON DREAMS. This was as per the directive which came into form after the producers' strike. It had been agreed that no two big films would be clashing with each other on the same day. "I am surprised when someone challenges the release plans of JAIL", says Madhur in an amused tone, "The fact is that I have been told by an Association member himself to go ahead with the release on 6th November. So where is the question of any ambiguity whatsoever?"
