Violence continues to be USP of RAKHT CHARITRA 2

On its release, Vivek Oberoi starrer RAKHT CHARITRA saw mixed reactions coming its way with some hailing it as yet another masterpiece (after SATYA, COMPANY and SARKAR) by Ram Gopal Varma while others panning it for its excessive violence. Many would have believed that for the second part of the film (starring South superstar Suriya as the key protagonist), Ramu would tone down the violence. However, the maverick film maker claims that he has no such intentions and is instead preparing his audience for more gore, blood and violence.

"I have studied the context behind RAKHT CHARITRA inside out and have seen that people have actually done extreme things in real life", says Ramu who did massive research on his film that has it's setting in Andhra Pradesh, "Yes, it is undoubtedly shocking but one has to enter the mind state of those who are doing it and then pass any judgment."

In the first part of RAKHT CHARITRA, Vivek Oberoi's character was shown to be lifting arms after his entire family was slaughtered by political bigwigs and their goons. Now in the second part, there is an avenger in the form of Suriya who has some of his own score to settle with Vivek.

"If you understand the kind of situations that these characters had found themselves in, you would feel that all this violence is completely justified. Despite the blood on screen, your heart will go out to the most ruthless of killers", defends Ramu, "When there is a certain justification and empathy to violence, it becomes all the more effective. Yes, RAKHT CHARITRA 2 is a very violent film as well and that comes with a reason."
