'Sheila' and 'Ainvayi Ainvayi' pump up the volume!

The year 2010 could have been declared as one of the worse in terms of sale of music albums, had it not been for HOUSEFULL, ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI or a DABANGG (the biggest), which came to the rescue of the beleaguered music industry. Certainly there was MY NAME IS KHAN, the music of which was largely appreciated by the elite section of the audience. Top music directors failed in their bid to entice patrons of Hindi film music to buy their albums.


	TEES MAAR KHAN and BAND BAAJA BAARAT

However all is not lost as there is news from our trade sources that the music albums of Farah Khan's TEES MAAR KHAN and Yash Raj's BAND BAAJA BAARAAT are registering good sales. This is good news, not only for the music industry but also for both the films as we know how essential and helpful it is for the music to be appreciated before the release so that the films can get a terrific start at the ticket window.

Without doubt we had high hopes from Farah Khan's TEES MAAR KHAN and even though the music may not be up to the high standards set by Farah herself in her two previous super hits, MAIN HOON NA and OM SHANTI OM, but one item number, "Sheila Ki Jawaani", has indeed turned out to be a "Munni Badnam" for the album. With the song slowly climbing up the music charts we are sure that the music will indeed peak at the right time thus providing an earth shattering start to TMK when it releases this Christmas.

The surprise entrant is Yash Raj's BAND BAAJA BARAAT, the music of which has found appreciation amongst the youth, especially in the north and the 'Bhangra' beats of "Ainvayi Ainvayi" has certainly lifted the album to the top five slot.

Let's hope that the forthcoming releases too keep up the good work!
