Sudhir Mishra: TERA KYA HOGA JOHNY has an insider's point of view

While one waits to watch TERA KYA HOGA JOHNY on the big screen, the fact remains that when launched, it was one of those first few films based on the darker side of Mumbai. However, over the years gone by, half a dozen odd films belonging to this genre have arrived, most recent being ALLAH KE BANDAY. Some of the other prominent films have been CITY OF GOLD and STRIKER as well. In such a scenario, how does film maker Sudhir Mishra feel that the freshness of TERA KYA HOGA JOHNY would stay intact?

"Let me proudly admit that I have managed to bring in insider's point of view in telling this tale of Mumbai", smiles Mishra who has lived for decades in Mumbai now, "If you walk this city in the night, there are stories that emerge from all over. This is a city of hope albeit with a darker side to it."

One can well believe Mishra here. After all he is the maker of films like DHARAVI and IS RAAT KI SUBAH NAHI that have stayed alive with audience more than a decade after they were made.

Getting a tad philosophical, Mishra adds, "This city shows how accidents of life happen, how sometimes life flips you around, how chances play a big role in your very existence and how, if you are in the right company, some of the most unexpected things could happen to you, hence twisting around your life."

Starring Neil Nitin Mukesh, Kay Kay Menon, Soha Ali Khan, Karan Nath, Vijay Maurya, Virendra Saxena and Makrand Deshpande amongst others, TERA KYA HO GAYA JOHNY releases all over on 17th December.
