Will TEES MAAR KHAN break DABANGG record?

The sole question which is making the rounds in the trade circles is - 'Will TEES MAAR KHAN break the opening record of DABANGG?

Now that's a mighty positive sign for this Akshay Kumar starrer because for his last release ACTION REPLAYY, the question was - 'Will it survive the challenge from GOLMAAL 3 and sail smooth at least?'. In case of TEES MAAR KHAN though, it's a given that this Farah Khan directorial venture will be a hit. Now 'how big a hit' is the question and that's something where the entire DABANGG comparison comes in.

For the records, it was the same question when DABANGG had released as not many were hopeful that the film would come anywhere close to 3 IDIOTS from the opening perspective. It still managed to pip the Aamir Khan starrer by a couple of crores and accumulated 81 crores in the first week. Now when a similar number if being thrown around for TEES MAAR KHAN, there is again a debate around whether a new record would be created.

The way entire team of TEES MAAR KHAN has gone all out to promote the film across the globe, there is no denying the fact that Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Farah Khan and their 'Sheila' are all over. All effort possible has gone into creating bigger visibility for the film, something which was all important for TEES MAAR KHAN if it was to take the best opening over.

Also, since the film would be releasing at a greater number of screens than DABANGG, it only adds on to the possibility of film opening huge. Whether the first week would be 80 crores or more would be known in 10 days from now. However one thing is sure that lifetime collections of HOUSEFULL (72 crores), the highest grossing film ever for Akshay Kumar), would be pretty much get quashed in one week flat once TEES MAAR KHAN arrives this Friday.
