The team of TEES MAAR KHAN has lived up to its name. In yet another act of smartness, something which is expected from the central protagonist of the film, the makers have brought out a fresh new weapon hours before the theatrical release of the film. Quashing all the speculations around TEES MAAR KHAN being a plagiarized copy of Hollywood flick AFTER THE FOX, Farah Khan and UTV have now declared that they always had the rights for the film and it is - hold your breath - indeed an official remake.
Laughs Farah, "Now how is that to actually stop all the silly rumors from flying after the release of TEES MAAR KHAN? At least now no one will stand up and start accusing us to have blatantly lifted a plot. We always had the rights of AFTER THE FOX."
One wonders though why the makers never came out in open when the rumors started floating around more than a month ago when the film was accused of being a lift.

"But it was all so funny, isn't it", questions Farah, "Don't you think that many out there would have a foot in their mouth now? Trust me watching all those silly stories floating around was sometimes amusing but sometimes also quite annoying. I couldn't have possibly addressed every rumor. If there would have been any clarification on my part then, some other rumor may have kick started later. We all just had a joint decision to keep quiet and make a declaration around the release period."
Well, seems all is well now. Having said that, many who have hailed Farah for bringing on masala entertainers would now be wondering if the Hollywood setting of the film would work well for the ambience as created in TEES MAAR KHAN due to its 'desi' flavor.
"We have taken the rights because we wanted to do everything ethically and legally. However, you would realize that the screenplay of TEES MAAR KHAN has been modified in a major way and there isn't more than 10% similarity in the scenes except for the basic plot", assures Farah.
Whether there is 10% or 100% similarity is something that would be known soon. However, this announcement of remake rights barely hours before the release would indeed be remembered for long.
