What newcomer Akshay Oberoi is doing in ISI LIFE MEIN isn't something that a quintessential debutant leading man is expected to do. Rather than turning heroic in this Sooraj Barjatya production, Akshay is instead making his debut in a romcom genre that has conflict around cultural disparity being at the core of it all. "The concept of a boy from a metropolitan and a girl from a small town is a very unique concept actually", reasons Akshay, "At the end of it all, we are all very Indian at heart. There are certain set values and traditions. People sometimes judge things by stating that it should be one way or other with things being either completely traditional or modern."

What also helped Akshay feel further confident about working on a Rajshri film was the fact that Sooraj Barjatya was pretty much hands on during the making of ISI LIFE MEIN. "Yes, his blessings are always there with me. Also, his guidance and support was there 1000%", gushes Akshay who has acted as a child star once in a film called AMERICAN CHAI, "When I decided to try my luck as a lead hero, ISI LIFE MEIN came calling. I was more than happy to have Soorajji as the producer of my first film ever."
