'Mr. India' turns 51... Jhakaas

The 'Mr. India' of B-Town, Anil Kapoor turns 51 today, and he is busy shooting for his much talked about international venture MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - GHOST PROTOCOL.

It will be a treat for his fans to see him sharing space with the Hollywood heart throb Tom Cruise.

Anil is slated to play a character of a corrupt Indian billionaire named 'Brij Nath' in the movie. With this film, Anil, who has portrayed different kinds of characters in big screen, will showcase his ability to portray the darker side.

Anil made his Bollywood debut in HAMARE TUMHARE in 1979 in a supporting role and then acted in a small cameo in Amitabh Bachchan-starrer SHAKTI, but he grabbed the eyeballs with his innocent performance in WOH SAAT DIN in 1983. Anil's career in B-town expanded widely since then. His on-screen chemistry with Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit also treated cine-goers with smashing hits like MR INDIA and TEZAAB

He has always attracted the attention of his fans for sketching different kinds of characters on-screen.

WOH SAAT DIN, MERI JUNG, JANBAAZ, MR. INDIA, JOSHILAY, KISHEN KANHAIYA, KHEL, 1942: A LOVE STORY, PUKAR, NO ENTRY, WELCOME, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, are few of the popular movies in which he has worked in his long and wide career.

In 2010, Kapoor starred in the eighth season of the American television series 24, portraying Omar Hassan, President of the fictional Islamic Republic of Kamistan.

While the actor's daughter Sonam Kapoor is creating ripples in Bollywood now as the new sensation on the block, Anil Kapoor remains evergreen and his female fans continue to swoon over his young looks and charming smile.

Surely, Anil will take a pledge on this birthday to continue entertaining his fans for more years to come.
