Unprecedented advance for TEES MAAR KHAN!

While it was given that Farah Khan's TEES MAAR KHAN would see a hurricane like start, the news of an unprecedented advance booking came as a surprise to most. The reason being that the lead actor Akshay Kumar is not known for being a big advance booking star. In trade parlance he is known as a live opening superstar.

Since we don't believe in unconfirmed news, we decided to investigate matters and talk to the people from the exhibition sector, directly at the helm of affairs. And here is the actual position.

a) Anand Lodha - Eylex, Ranchi: Yes indeed, the advance has been fantastic. If we compare it to some of the biggies like DABANGG, the first day advance was bigger for DABANGG, obviously due to Eid. But overall the weekend is much better than DABANGG or for that matter any other release. The position is nearly similar in all our three screens.

b) Abhijeet - Roxy, Kolkata: We have seen the best advance. I won't compare TEES MAAR KHAN to DABANGG because 3 IDIOTS had seen the best advance for us. But TMK has beaten 3 IDIOTS. Nearly 80% of the weekend is gone.

c) Ajay Katurnka - Mona, Patna: No doubt the advance booking has been the best ever. Till now Prakash Jha's RAAJNEETI had seen the best advance booking at our cinema but TMK has crossed it. We have 442 seats and already 5406 tickets have been sold in just over an hour.

d) Shashank Raizada - Delite, New Delhi: Till now, DABANGG had the best advance at our cinema but TMK has crossed it. The weekend is almost sold out.

Well, these are some of the actual stats. We also spoke to some of the other exhibitors/cinema owners at many other centres of India and the reports were similar
