Madhur Bhandarkar: DIL TOH BACCHA HAI JI is not brainless

It takes lot of courage to tread on a path, which is not your forte. And filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar is one such brave and bold person. Madhur, who's known for making hard-hitting cinema, forays into comedy for the first time with upcoming film, DIL TOH BACCHA HAI JI. He is pretty confident about his latest outing.

'DIL TOH BACCHA HAI JI is not slapstick, over the top or brainless comedy. It's made with the heart. Normally, filmmakers, who make comedies, say that keep your brains aside and watch my film but I'll say meri picture dekhne aao toh apna dimag aur dil dono leke aana ekdum realistic lagegi. DTBHJ will have people laughing as they come out of the theatres,' says Madhur in an elated tone.

Madhur has wet our eyes numerous times with his high on drama films. But this time around Madhur claims that he will have us in tears with his laugh riot DIL TOH BACCHA HAI JI.

'I've made people cry only (laughs). My wife used to get depressed a lot saying that I always make people cry. Today she is happy and says that you have made a feel good funny film. As a person she knows me well that I am very lighthearted and fun loving guy. She always used to wonder why I only make realistic cinema and never attempt comedies. I am happy that I have made such a beautiful comedy film. '

Starring Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Shruti Hassan, Omi Vaidya, Shahzan Padamsee and Shraddha Das, DIL TOH BACCHA HAI JI is slated for release on January 28.
