Akshay's PATIALA HOUSE - Profitable before release?

Come February and Akshay Kumar's first release of 2011, PATIALA HOUSE, will hit the screens. The First Look of this Nikhil Advani directed film has just been unveiled alongside TEES MAAR KHAN. While those who have had a dekko at the promo are more or less positive about the film's subject and content, the makers are already confident that the film would be an earning preposition for all involved.

"PATIALA HOUSE is a very practical project and has very realistic logistics involved when it comes to monetary matters", says Bhushan Kumar who is one of the co-producers of the film, "I am sure everyone involved with the film would make good profits from it."

On being asked that what makes him so confident about the film, Bhushan says that while the budget of PATIALA HOUSE is pretty controlled, it is the profit sharing model which goes most in the film's favour.

"Firstly and most importantly, PATIALA HOUSE is a right budgeted film", says Bhushan who released his last production KAJRAARE straight on DVD after a two theatre release formality, "Also we have worked out on this entire profit sharing formula with Akshay."

Narrating examples of other actors, Bhushan adds, "In fact Aamir (Khan) and Shah Rukh (Khan) always work like this. They have a base price and beyond that it is profit sharing mode. Now with PATIALA and READY, Akshay as well as Salman are working on the same mode with us."

A co-production of Twinkle Khanna, Mukesh Talreja and Zoeb Springwala along with Bhushan Kumar and Kishan Kumar, PATIALA HOUSE has music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and releases all over on 11th February.
