Kangana - The boss in TANU WEDS MANU

In her short half a decade long career so far, Kangana Ranaut has mainly played an upmarket girl. Now that's quite an irony considering the fact that she basically has a small town upbringing as she was born and brought up in a small town in Himachal Pradesh. Now that she would be seen as a small town girl in TANU WEDS MANU, her co-star Madhavan truly believes that it must have been quite a natural act for Kangana to get into the skin of the character.

"I am dead sure that in her earlier years when she lived in Himachal, she must have been quite a boss out there," laughs Madhavan, "I could sense that during the time when we were shooting for TANU WEDS MANU. While most of us were quite serious preparing for our roles, she seemed so effortless as Tanu."

TANU WEDS MANU is an Aanand L Rai directed film where Madhavan plays the character of Manu. An NRI, he flies down to India to find a suitable bride. While he has a certain perception about small towns and their inhabitants, there is a different India that he is exposed to once he steps his feet on this land.

"Yeah, it has that setting where ek ladka ek ladki ko dekhne aata hain. You know the kind where a wedding is not just between two individuals but between families as well as streets," smiles Madhavan while describing this romcom which has instantly caught attention ever since its first look was out a few days back.

TANU WEDS MANU releases on 25th February.
