When frustrated Ranveer quit theatre

For newcomer Ranveer Singh (to be seen as Bittoo in soon to be released BAND BAJAA BAARAAT), films wasn't the first stopover. Before stepping into the world of 'lights camera action', he had in fact decided to hone his acting skills and for that he didn't even hesitate to enroll himself into a theatre group. However, it was in quick time that he decided to move out of this unexplored world.

'See, what happens in theatre groups is that a newcomer doesn't get an opportunity to hit the stage right away', confesses Ranveer who hails from Mumbai and has studied in the USA., 'There is quite a lot of work which is required to be done back stage due to which I too could never get a chance to perform. I soon realized that it wasn't quite working out for me and starting thinking of conventional ways of reaching out to the makers.'

This meant that he pronto got his portfolio clicked and started making the rounds of casting directors and agents.

'It was a harrowing time but then I had to go through the grind. It was destined as things weren't meant to come easily to me. I started going through different channels just so that someone could notice me and offer me a good film. It was a struggle to go from one place to another every day but then with BAND BAJAA BAARAAT coming to me eventually, the wait was long but worth it', Ranveer recollects

With Anushka Sharma as the leading lady and Maneesh Sharma making his debut as a director, BAND BAJAA BAARAAT releases all over on 10th December.
