Faruk Kabir: There's no message in ALLAH KE BANDAY

After a lot of rescheduling, debutante director Faruk Kabir's ALLAH KE BANDAY is finally releasing this Friday. The film stars Sharman Joshi and Naseeruddin Shah, Faruk is also plying an important role in the film.

So is the director having butterflies in the stomach? "I'm very happy that my film is about to release. In all humility I'm not nervous. I'm pretty happy with the film and its content. We are in a nice space."

Speaking about ALLAH KE BANDAY, the young filmmaker says, "It's a raw, edgy, rebellious film. I'm not trying to preach anything to anyone through this film. It's a hardcore two-hour film made with honest. It's made to entertain, provoke and stimulate. There is no message in my film. I'm just telling the story of two kids who commit their first crime at the age of 12 and what happens in their lives after that."

So wasn't acting and directing in his very first film a tough task? "It was daunting task to act and direct. But luckily, we went very planned to this film. Before we started the film, everything for every schedule was locked."

Faruk had approached many actors to play his part. "I had approached many actors to play my part. It was very frustrating when they refused my film. Finally I had to play the part as I knew it well and we had to start shooting," said the director on a parting note.
