HUM KISI SE KAM NAHIN in ACTION REPLAYY?

The talkie promo of ACTION REPLAYY has been catching heat over last couple of weeks and one of the things that can't be missed is the slow version of 'Kya Hua Tera Waada' (from HUM KISI SE KAM NAHIN) that plays in the background. Even otherwise, one can hear the sound of R.D. Burman's music in the promo since the film is set in the 70s. Does that mean the film would prominently feature these songs in the narrative as well?

"No, that is not the case", confirms producer and director Vipul Shah who has gone for a totally original music in the film, "'Kya Hua Tera Waada' that plays in the background is just for the promotional purpose. It doesn't feature in the film. Yes, we have set the film in the 70s but we haven't borrowed music from that era. The reason we have it running in the promo is just to give audience a sense that the film belongs to that time. Also, it brings the fun element in this light hearted affair."

One wouldn't have minded a full fledged song in the narrative as well though. After all in the recently released ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI, there was the rearranged version of 'Duniya Mein Logon Ko' being rechristened as 'Parda' and it did manage to leave a very good impact.

"That's right", Vipul nods in agreement here, "But then we didn't need anything like that since Pritam himself has composed so many good original songs for the soundtrack of 70s. In fact while the flavour of his songs would definitely remind of the 70s, such is the beauty of his music that it would appeal in today's time as well."
