Aishwarya turns grungy for ACTION REPLAYY

ACTION REPLAYY is catching up heat and while the film is now less than a month away, there are quite a few firsts that are emerging. While it is a known fact that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is working with Akshay Kumar for the first time in a romantic role (she was an anti-heroine in KHAKEE), she is also being seen in a new look in this Vipul Shah affair. If the song 'Zor Ka Jhatka' is anything to by, it is clear that Ash has gone through a complete image change here.

Says a prominent costume designer, "One has to just look at the way in which Ash has got an altogether different set of costumes designed for the film, especially the song 'Zor Ka Jhatka'. She can be seen in an out and out grungy avtar, something that hasn't been the case with her for so many years. Yes, in a film like ROBOT she has got into something flashy but then it is a Tamil film. If one looks at her Hindi films, the last time Ash was seen donning such a grungy look was in DHOOM 2."

The designer has a point here. In films like GURU, PROVOKED, JODHAA AKBAR, SARKAR RAJ, RAAVAN and soon to be released GUZAARISH, she has been projected as a mature and head strong woman. In 'Zor Ka Jhatka' though, she has pretty much let go off her inhibition.

"Ash simply let her hair down while shooting for 'Zor Ka Jhatka", says Vipul who was pleased with the way Ash approached the song and went through a complete makeover, "We wanted a high energy fun song that spoke about the evils of marriage but in a lighter tone. The dance moves had to be aggressive yet elegant. Ash's costume just complimented the kind of personality she had to bring on the screen."
