ACTION REPLAYY ends 3 year long 'romantic' wait

Believe it or not but ever since the release of his last romantic film, NAMASTEY LONDON, Akshay Kumar has mainly been seen in comedies, thrillers or action flicks. Meanwhile for Vipul Shah too it has been an over three years wait after he made a dramatic LONDON DREAMS in the interim.

"Call it some coincidence but after Akshay and Vipul worked together on NAMASTEY LONDON, they didn't work on any romantic flicks", says an industry veteran, "Akshay did have a dozen odd releases in the interim but each of these films belonged to different genres. He has done comedies (HEYY BABYY, WELCOME, SINGH IS KINNG, DE DANA DAN, HOUSEFULL), drama (BHOOL BHULAIYAA, 8X10 TASVEER, KHATTA MEETHA) and action (TASHAN, CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA, BLUE) or a romcom (KAMBAKKHT ISHQ). However, a quintessential light hearted love story was being missed."

Now with ACTION REPLAYY, the duo has made a romantic musical which has turned out to be a different fare for both Akshay and Vipul.

"We are neither projecting our film as a romcom nor as a laugh-riot comedy", says Vipul, "It is a romantic musical entertainer and this is what we want the audience to expect from the film as well. Of course there are light hearted elements as well but ACTION REPLAYY hasn't been designed as a comic outing at all. The film will show a romantic side of Akshay and with Ash in tow, it should be one lovely pair to watch on the screen."

ACTION REPLAYY releases all over this Diwali on 5th November 2010.
