Mallika's HISSS takes an impressive start!

While the dull pre-Diwali phase continues to take a toll on the new releases, Mallika Sherawat's HISSS has managed to put up an impressive show. However this does not come as a surprise to us as we had predicted the same just last week (Mallika's HISSS may surprise! - October 11).

Checking out the exact stats, the film started on a dull note at the multiplexes but picked up as the day progressed. But it was the single screens of North, East and Central India where many cinemas saw a bumper start. And those that did not, picked up significantly later in the day.

Though these are still early days for coming to a conclusion, for now the 'ichhadhaari naag/nagin' theme seems to have done the trick for the Jennifer Lynch directed film. And given the way some of the big star cast and hyped films have been falling at the turnstile, the performance of HISSS can easily be termed as impressive, comparatively speaking.
