Emraan: 'Yesterday's evil is today's necessity'

Yet again, Emraan Hashmi is playing a young man who is not quite attached to his morals. In 'CROOK', Emraan plays the title role and one expects the naughty and mischevious streak of his to be visible all over again, just as has been the case with almost all of his earlier releases. While he continues to play a character with negative shades to it, doesn't Emraan ever feel that he is creating a set image of himself amongst the audience?

'See, this morality of this character which I am enacting in 'CROOK' is such that he believes in the saying of 'good guys finishing last'', smiles Emraan who is working with Bhatts and Mohit Suri yet again in 'CROOK', 'This guy too feels that if he is street-smart, he would achieve success faster. On the other hand if he stays on to be good, the road to success would be much longer. There are many youngsters who feel like that and I am just mirroring reality here. There isn't anything about a set image being created or anything.'

In the film, Emraan plays the role of a young man who travels from India to Australia and tries to find his foot in the foreign land. He does encounter racism up, close and personal but charters his own route to face the situation.

Elaborating further on his character in the film, Emraan says, 'I woudn't say that he is nice person or a negative person. You can't slot someone so distinctly today. In any case, what was considered evil back in time is a necessity in today's cut throat world. It could be anywhere in any profession. That's the reality of life so why run away from it.'

Marking the debut of Neha Sharma, 'CROOK' has music by Pritam and releases all over on 8th October.
