Salman's BODYGUARD would be larger-than-life

Salman Khan's BODYGUARD is up for release and though it is a remake of Malayalam version of the same film, one can't deny the fact that at the end of it all added ingredients must have come into the script due to a superstar at the helm of affairs. In such a scenario, one wonders how faithful is the remake when compared to the original? Is the plotline exactly the same or have there been any changes?

"Actually in the true sense we have remade the movie instead of copying it," assures Atul Agnihotri, the film's producer and Salman's brother-in-law, "It is a very well told story and that core still remains intact. However it had to be adapted completely for Hindi audience and has been accordingly customized. Moreover the need of the hour was to have that perfect casting since you need two actors of very high caliber to justify the characters that they have to play."

Couple of additional steps taken were around enhancing the film's music as well as action, something everyone associated with BODYGUARD believes to be an integral part of the entire affair.

"With Salman, audience won't settle for anything less than chartbuster music here so Himesh (Reshammiya) came in," Atul continues, "Moreover action too was brought several notches up when compared to the other versions. It was present there too but the styling is way too different in our version. Since we have an advantage of a bigger budget due to this being a Bollywood affair, we could afford to be more elaborate in our approach."

He adds that the Salman-Eid combination played in everyone's mind when the film was being planned.

"Yes, there is also certain expectation from the audience because the film comes on the festive occasion of Eid. So while the regional versions were stories that were very simply told, Hindi 'Bodyguard' is very different from the rest as it is a much larger than life affair," confirms Atul before signing off.
