Prakash Jha agrees to edit AARAKSHAN

Facing ban from Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, filmmaker Prakash Jha on Thursday agreed to edit portions of AARAKSHAN, a celluloid take on the volatile academic reservations issue. "We have agreed to make minor changes following objections. There are certain dialogues and scenes that have been edited," Jha said at a press conference here.

Jha, however, hinted his dissatisfaction at political parties making an 'issue' of his film. "When you make a film on social issue everyone has a point of view on it. In Punjab, nobody has even seen the film," he said.

Republican Party of India (RPI) leader Ramdas Athavale, who opposed the release of the film for its 'anti-reservation' approach, was also present at the press meet.
 
"I am happy that you have taken this positively and withdrawn opposition to the film," Jha told Athawale.
