Esha Gupta: Bhatts make use of their heroines

When released in the middle of IPL few years back, JANNAT was a huge success and marked the debut of director Kunal Deshmukh. The film touched upon the nexus of the world of cricket and underworld while also exposing betting and fixing racket. Now JANNAT 2 is about the nexus involving illegal arms and is yet again directed by Kunal. With Emraan Hashmi and Randeep Hooda as the male leads in the film, one wonders whether debutant Esha Gupta indeed has a substantial part to play amidst these men.

"The female protagonist definitely has a major part to play in the film. There is a love story involved and without the girl, the story wouldn't move ahead in JANNAT 2," says Esha, "Also, as is a known fact, Bhatts don't rope in heroines just for the sake of it. They make use of them but they don't use them."

Now that indeed tells a lot about the girl because all this while one would have presumed that it was only Sunny Leone who was getting so much attention from Mahesh Bhatt for JISM 2. While detailing of this interaction does make one feel further convinced that Esha is an integral part of JANNAT 2, one is tempted to ask the young girl about her interaction so far with Emraan Hashmi, the film's lead.

"Emraan is simply amazing," says Esha, "Moreover, he is also very patient and thank God for that! You know initially I did require quite a few takes for some of my scenes but he never minded that. He gives a lot of cues and sometimes even if he may not be required in front of the camera, he would still stand behind it and help out. He jokes around on sets and keeps the atmosphere lively. We have managed to get into a comfortable working relationship with each other."
