Top 4 movie names become characters of Hriday's film

Every filmmaker has a list of favourite movies, so does director Hriday Shetty. And to acknowledge these movies he has names his lead characters after his favourites in his next movie CHAALIS CHAURAASI. Hriday loves Mahesh Bhatt's 1993 release SIR which stars actor Naseeruddin Shah and in CHAALIS CHAURAASI, Naseer's character's name is also 'Sir'. Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia starrer BOBBY is another of his favourite movies after which he has names actor Atul Kulkarni's character in his movie. Another Naseer starrer that is Hriday's favourite is ALBERT PINTO KO GUSSA KYON AATA HAI, after which he has named actor Kay Kay Menon's character. And last but not the least is the 1982 Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan starrer movie SHAKTI and he has named actor Ravi Kishan's character after it.

''I was born in the industry and since a kid watching a movie has been quite an addiction. But out of the many favourites BOBBY, SHAKTI, SIR and ALBERT PINTO KO GUSSA KYON AATA HAI stand out for me. I wanted to acknowledge them in some way in CHAALIS CHAURAASI. And what better way than naming my characters after these movies. So I named Naseer saab Sir, Atul is Bobby, Kay Kay is Albert Pinto and Ravi is Shakti,'' explains Hriday.
One police van - MH-02-A- 4084, four Cops, one night, one job, one hell of a ride, is what Hriday Shetty's new directorial film titled CHAALIS CHAURAASI, in one line. Produced by MAASK Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. in association with Filament Glo (India) Pvt. Ltd, CHAALIS CHAURAASI stars extremely talented and experienced actors like Naseeruddin Shah, KK Menon, Atul Kulkarni and Ravi Kishan. The film also casts Rajesh Sharma better known for his memorable stints in ISHQIYA, NO ONE KILLED JESSICA, and KHOSLA KA GHOSLA. The film is written by Yash-Vinay and the music in the film is by Lalit Pandit. The movie is slated to release on January 13th, 2011.

Exploring a humour crime genre, CHAALIS CHAURAASI is like a rollercoaster ride in an amusement park, except that it takes place in a police van. The story of the film revolves around 4 cops Pankaj Suri aka SIR (Naseeruddin Shah ), Albert Pinto aka PINTO (Kay Kay Menon), Bhaskar Sardesai aka BOBBY (Atul Kulkarni) and Shakti Chinappa aka SHAKTI (Ravi Kishan); who see an opportunity to a great future when they are given a mission to pull off. Things take a twist when another cop stops their van en-route and takes them as his backup to catch a dangerous gangster.
The story unfolds through the night where the fine line between law and crime is repeatedly crossed, leading to unexpected situations, sometimes very hilarious. The 4 guys who think of themselves as very rough and tough, macho men encounter situations where they are forced to reckon with a different truth about themselves.
