DON 2 amasses best non holiday weekend haul!

The critics may have panned it, reactions have may have been mixed (tilting towards positive), but the paying audience has lapped up Farhan Akhtar's DON: THE KING IS BACK.

With a growth on each of the three day (big jump on Sunday), the Shah Rukh Khan-Priyanka Chopra starrer has netted around 46 crores from India. The Tamil and Telugu versions have additionally contributed around 1.60-1.70 crores.

In fact, this is the best-non holiday weekend collections (with Christmas falling on Sunday) ever for any Hindi film. It beats the previous record held by READY which had netted around 43 crore during a non-holiday season as well.

CHECK OUT: Farhan- DON 2 has the potential to get overly dramatic

DON: THE KING IS BACK has also seen quite a steady Monday and is estimated to have netted just over 7 crores. With winter vacations around the corner at most places, the film is expected to do quite well even during the second weekend.

Before we leave, as expected DON: THE KING IS BACK has set the overseas on fire. It has grossed the best ever first day in Australia (beating BODYGUARD's US $74,000) by grossing US$ 82,000. The film has also grossed $550,000 from US on Friday beating MY NAME IS KHAN's opening day figure of $445,000.
