Has Karan Johar betrayed Shahrukh?

They have sworn by each other's friendship. At one point Karan Johar even went to the extent of saying that he won't ever think of directing a film if Shahrukh Khan is not in it.

Similarly, for SRK, KJO has been one of his closest buddies in B-Town. But, over the last few months there has been a gradual shift in their stated positions. While SRK is forging new relationships, KJO on his part has decided to cast two newcomers in his next film. Reportedly it will have SRK only as a co-producer and not as an actor, which is something not going with KJO's earlier promise.

So, the pertinent question in many quarters these days is whether KJO has backtracked on his promise. Some have even labelled KJO"s moves with betrayal. Though we don't share this extremist labelling but nevertheless it seems the equation between SRK and KJO is getting reset in many ways.

Well, nothing can be an absolute statement. But, the way the contours of SRK-KJO equation are changing, our conjectures are surely footed on hard ground.
