Bollywood box-office report of the week

This Friday's new releases include Nikhil Advani's PATIALA HOUSE, Gipsy Films And Shethia Audio Video Productions' AASHIQUI.IN and the Ganesh Acharya directed ANGEL. One does not have to be a Nostradamus to predict that the front runner is going to be the Akshay-Anushka starrer PATIALA HOUSE. However, the film does not feature Akshay Kumar in his audience pleasing role, which means that it will not take the usual flying start (associated with Akshay) and will begin on a somewhat sedate note. But, if the contents are good PATIALA HOUSE will pick up by the day. The film is also expected to do well in the Overseas, especially in UK and Canada.


	PATIALA HOUSE and YEH SAALI ZINDAGI

Last week saw multiple releases in the form of YEH SAALI ZINDAGI, UNITED SIX, UTT PATAANG and the coloured version of Dev Anand's classic HUM DONO. As expected the front runner was the Sudhir Mishra directed YEH SAALI ZINDAGI, though the start was quite ordinary. The film did see a positive growth (at the multiplexes) as the weekend progressed and it will be interesting to see if the 9-10 crore (inclusive of print and publicity) YSZ gets into the profit zone. None of the other releases including the Dev Anand starrer managed even a half decent start.
