Vidya Balan is hottest vegetarian

Bollywood actor Vidya Balan turns the hottest vegetarian. In a recent poll conducted for PETA India's Hottest Vegetarian Celebrity, Vidya Balan have been crowned as the queen. Vidya Balan beats out early leaders R Madhavan and Lara Dutta to claim the title after facing stiff competition from the likes of Mallika Sherawat, Natalie Portman, Kareena Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Shahid Kapoor, and Bryan Adams.

"I am vegetarian", Balan recently told. "As a result, my metabolism has improved, and this is a huge contributor to weight loss."

Besides Vidya, Shashi Tharoor has too topped the poll!

"Vidya Balan and Shashi Tharoor embody many admirable qualities, but their commitment to a vegetarian diet that's as kind to animals and the Earth as it is to their own health makes them true royalty in our book", says PETA India's chief functionary, Poorva Joshipura. "All our nominees are winners because there's nothing more beautiful than a caring heart to go along with an attractive appearance."

Balan's first big commercial success came in Rajkumar Hirani's 2006 film LAGEY RAHO MUNNA BHAI, and she won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for her performance in the 2009 film PAA.
