Arshad going the Salman way

After Salman Khan, it is now Arshad Warsi who is fast turning out to be the new unofficial casting director of his upcoming films. So while it is Salman who decided that he would launch or re-launch the likes of Sonakshi Sinha, Zarine Khan and Asin through his DABANGG, VEER and READY, Arshad too is said to be doing the same in his own limited ways with Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut in ZILLA GHAZIABAD and DEDH ISHQIYA respectively.

"For a franchise like GOLMAAL he may take a back-seat as there are men like Ajay Devgn at the top of affairs. But when it comes to films where he is the most saleable name, Arshad isn't shying away from having his way," an industry source comments.

So while Arshad liaise between Vivek Oberoi and the makers of ZILLA GHAZIABAD, he is said to have done the same in case of DEDH ISHQIYA as well where the makers were stuck when they started thinking beyond Vidya Balan. Even though Rani Mukerjee's name was also being considered, Arshad felt that Kangna was the right choice. Though people close to the DHAMAAL girl insist that Arshad doesn't really have a role to play, the ones belonging to Arshad's camp have reiterated that the man indeed had a word with the DEDH ISHQIYA makers.
"For his upcoming movies like DEDH ISHQIYA and ZILLA GHAZIABAD, Arshad is involved at every stage," informs a source close to the actor, "And guess what, none of his makers seem to be minding that either. Enjoying a good phase at the box office where most of his films are turning out to be safe money spinners at the box office (DOUBLE DHAMAAL, F.A.L.T.U., GOLMAAL 3, ISHQIYA), Arshad is now wearing a hat similar to that of Salman Khan who has a definite say in casting decisions for his films."
