SRK's decision to back RA.ONE surprised Anubhav

When Shahrukh decided to back Anubhav Sinha by consenting to do RA.ONE, many were surprised. After all he had just delivered CASH and though the two were in talks about RA.ONE much before the release of this multi starrer, it was expected that Shahrukh would give his decision a second thought. However he continued to stick to the idea of making a costly superhero film like RA.ONE which is rumoured to be budgeted in the upward of 150 crores.

"I know Shahrukh's decision to back me on RA.ONE did surprise many," admits Anubhav, "In fact why others, even I confirmed with him a couple of times if he was sure to back a film like this with me. After CASH, people had written me off and here was Shahrukh giving me the biggest film ever to be made in the country. It was pleasantly shocking nonetheless when he continued to stick to his decision."

Now that the film's theatrical promo is out, the fact which cannot be denied is that expectations from RA.ONE have been enhanced manifold.

"And it is these very expectations that I am playing with as well," pronto replies Anubhav who shot to fame with TUM BIN and DUS early in his career, "I would rather play with such huge expectations than walk into a setup where no one knows what is being made. I remember when I went to him about the film for the first time way back in 2005; I had told him that the film won't be possible without him stepping in both as a producer as well as actor. Thank goodness he obliged otherwise RA.ONE would have been relegated to just being a dream."

With Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal playing the other principal roles, RA.ONE releases all over on 26th October 2011.
