Salman Khan kicks off Celebrity Cricket League

Just when you thought Cricket season has come to an end with the completion of ICC World Cup and IPL, here comes along another cricket extravaganza in the form of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL). The cricket frenzy will continue with CCL, which brings together celebrities from four different Indian film industries. For the first time in India, the film fraternities from Bollywood and the southern film industry - Tamil, Telugu, Kannada come together to play in the T20 format.

Superstar Salman Khan alongwith various stars kicked off CCL at Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bengaluru on a grand scale. The opening ceremony saw folk dance performances, a new film promotion and a formal ceremony. Actors like Suniel Shetty, Sohail Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Ambareesh, Sarath Kumar, Siddarth, Shriya Saran and many others were also present at the event.

The film fraternities are represented by four teams - Mumbai Heroes, Tamil Rhinos, Karnataka Bulldozers and Telugu Warriors.

The first edition of the star-packed Twenty20 extravaganza CCL began on June 4, in Bengaluru and now the finals will be held in Hyderabad on June 12.

The idea is to combine two popular Indian religions, Bollywood and cricket, to produce great entertainment for the Indian audience.
