For writer-director Anees Bazmee, the super success of READY has resulted in him further re-establishing his position in the top bracket of commercial mass oriented filmmakers. His earlier superhits WELCOME and SINGH IS KINNG had collected 70 crores each in their entire lifetime run. At that time these were two of the hugest money spinners as 3 IDIOTS, GHAJINI, DABANGG, GOLMAAL 3 and RAAJNEETI - the Top-5 box office accumulators today - were yet to arrive. Now with the bumper run that READY is enjoying after netting 70 crores in one week flat, it has turned into Bazmee's biggest success till date.

"Inshallah, this has been fantastic," says Bazmee in a relaxed tone, "I am being told that READY will be one of the top five grossing films of all times. This is great for the film as well as the industry. This also announces clearly that let's not under estimate the audience. Let's give them what they want instead of making something that we want. There is no point in being intellectuals and it only makes sense to cater to a wider segment of audience which just wants their dose of unabashed entertainment."

The fact which can't be denied is that coupled with the confidence that audience had in Bazmee's hold over comic genre, something that allowed even THANK YOU to sustain well at the box office after a patchy start, it was the Salman Khan factor that helped pull in huge audience for READY on the very first day. Of course after that it was the film which did all the talking, something that has resulted in consistent collections even in the second weekend.

CHECK OUT: Hollywood still not READY for Bollywood!

"See, the fact is that a film can be made beautiful with things like costumes, cinematography, editing etc. but what is of utmost importance is the story," he reasons, "The character has to be written in such a way that it is convincing enough for the audience for them to revisit it. This is what worked with READY as well because despite having two dozen characters in the film with Salman leading the show, no one felt left out. The results are there to be seen."

Well, with everyone associated with the film doing 'dhinka chika' all the way to the bank, rest assured the results are only expected to grow brighter as READY crosses 100 crores milestone by coming weekend.
