Aftab: BIN BULAYE BARAATI isn't taxing on head

After a hiatus, Aftab Shivdasani is returning to the big screen with BIN BULAYE BARAATI. An out and out comedy, the film arrives more than a year after Aftab's last two ventures - a romantic drama (AAO WISH KAREIN) and an action thriller (ACID FACTORY). It is quite obvious that temptation for Aftab was to follow a successful (and much safer) formula and shift gears towards comedy.

'I guess the call of the hour is to give entertainment to the audience,' reflects Aftab, 'I am quite happy to have picked up BIN BULAYE BARAATI since I am very comfortable with the comedy genre. Today you have to make something which is not taxing on the head but it is instead light hearted.'

In this Chandrakant Singh directed film, Aftab Shivdasani, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz and Sanjay Mishra are the four characters who impersonate as cops and enter a village which has problems of its own. Believing that they are indeed cops, villagers start worshipping them that makes them turn into heroes.

'This village is being troubled by Gulshan Grover and though we don't have any intentions to help initially, a series of incidents make villagers believe that we are on their side. Eventually they start treating as us Gods. From this point on there is one comic incident leading to another that makes BIN BULAYE BARAATI a fun ride,' says Aftab.

In this fun ride they are joined by Priyanka Kothari, Shweta Tiwari and Mallika Sherawat who add on to the glamour quotient. Also starring veteran actors like Om Puri and Shakti Kapoor along with Johny Lever and Mukesh Tiwari, BIN BULAYE BARAATI releases all over this Friday.
