Zayed: Dia is the boss

When Dia Mirza and Zayed Khan decided to float a production house together, a promise was made that all decisions would be mutually amicable. Now that their maiden venture LOVE, BREAKUPS, ZINDAGI is ready and its First Look has been released, Zayed can't help but feel amused about the way he and Dia went about wearing a hat of a producer as well as an actor with the lady clearly holding an edge when it came to make the final call.

'Quite honestly, she is genetically a boss. Being in command comes quite naturally to her,' laughs Zayed, 'In fact what is even more amusing is the fact that while in front of the camera I am romancing Dia, behind it she is the boss as a producer. It was kind of funny but then soon I as well as Sahil Sangha (third partner in their company as well as the film's director) got used to it. I guess somewhere out there we guys like to be mothered.'

One does wonder whether presence of a woman further kept the two guys on their toes as there had to be a certain decorum required to be maintained both on and off the sets.

'You don't have to try anything, it all comes naturally when Dia is around,' Zayed says fondly, 'She holds all reins, is a very commanding woman but all said and done, she comes with a lot of grace and earns her respect. There isn't anything forced.'

How about her being the 'heart of affairs'? It wasn't too long ago when the trio had famously admitted that while Zayed and Sahil were the mind of the team, Dia was the one who spoke for the heart.

'That's one way of looking at it actually,' smiles Zayed, 'Yes, she is the heart and we are the minds but then we often swap our roles. Sometimes if Dia is not around, Sahil would pick up her role and vice versa. We all bring our minds together to lay down plans for making, promoting and marketing the film. When on the table, it is irrespective that who is the heart or the mind; it is all mutual for us as partners.'

Also starring Cyrus Sahukar, Tisca Chopra, Satyadeep Mishra, Vaibhav Talwar, Auritra Ghosh and Umang, LOVE BREAKUPS ZINDAGI is a young romcom with music by Salim-Suleiman with lyrics by Javed Akhtar.
