So finally it has happened and we have arrived at a week where there are no new Hindi film listed for release! Needless to add that it will benefit TANU WEDS MANU the most and may be reduce some losses for PATIALA HOUSE!
With small films doing well at the ticket window, it was expected that the Yogesh Mittal directed Anupam Kher, Pawan Malhotra and Teana Desae starrer YEH FAASLEY may just chart the same course. Unfortunately, despite some decent reviews the film saw a very ordinary start and could not improve upon it.
The collections of TANU WEDS MANU went from strength to strength as the week progressed. Netting 18.75 crore during the first week, the Madhavan-Kangna starrer, TANU WEDS MANU is already an above average fare that is sure to get to a hit status in the coming weeks. The film, despite a limited release has fared rather well in the Overseas grossing £60,000 from UK and $155,000 from US till the second weekend (4-6 March).
