Bollywood's 'Sheila Ki Jawani' enlivens Cannes inaugural

During the opening ceremony of the 64th Cannes Film Festival, the Mecca of world cinema, this Bollywood item number from TEES MAAR KHAN had its impact felt in a montage of clips from the films in the festival's official selection, which was shown to the guests at the ceremony.

The exuberant Sheila Ki jawani number added a sweet and warm touch of Bollywood to the serious and sublime proceedings here. It is part of the documentary BOLLYWOOD-THE GREATEST LOVE STORY EVER TOLD, which is showing in the 'out of competition' section of the festival. Wild Bunch is marketing the film worldwide and people are looking forward to the film's official screening here. And there are certainly some cult followers of Bollywood here who would not mind attending the mid-night screening of the film.
