Akshay's OUATIM 2 picks up from OUATIM end?

Every other successful franchise, be it MUNNABHAI, GOLMAAL, DHOOM, HERA PHERI OR KOI MIL GAYA/KRRISH, has delved into a different territory from one installment to another. Though in most of these the character names have remained the same, the plotline has been totally different with no major connection between the original and the sequel. Same holds good for upcoming HOUSEFULL 2 which has seen a new amalgamation of characters and situations.

This isn't expected to be the case with ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI 2 though.

"OUATIM 2 begins from the same point where the original left," informs a source, "Even thought Milan Luthria (director) and Ekta Kapoor (producer) would be revealing the plotline only closer to release, the fact is that Akshay Kumar would be carrying forward the story from the same point which ended with Ajay Devgn's killing and Emraan Hashmi's rise to fame."

Expectedly, Milan expresses his inability to reveal much about the storyline here.

"It is still early days to comment on how do we take forward the story of OUATIM 2 when it comes to plotline and characterization," he says, "I have to first finish off THE DIRTY PICTURE (Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi and Tusshar Kapoor). While I would be preparing for its release, ground work on ONCE UPON A TIME... sequel would be progressing. I can already see some turning times ahead."

Our source goes on to add, "Since the original had an open ending, there is so much of scope to work to bring on an interesting dimension. Naturally, it is the excitement of unknown which is making audience wait for what Milan has to offer this time around."

We would agree to that.
