Kainaz on RAGINI MMS: No film is ever 100% perfect

A week has gone by since RAGINI MMS hit the screens and it is crystal clear that it hasn't quite turned out to be 'the scariest film ever' which was being propagated all this while. Of course commercially the film is in a recovery zone but for audience as well as critics, the response has been mixed with some liking the treatment while others feeling that the second half dragged towards the end.

'Yes, I am aware that not all critics were totally satisfied with the film,' says Kainaz Motivala who played Ragini on screen, 'May be what they are saying has something valid to it. But then I am not someone who can really comment much on it. As an actor, you can't have much objectivity about the film once you have spent months on it.'

The biggest complaint that many critics had was about the film's abrupt ending. Another grudge was against Ragini being the sole survivor in the haunted house when everything that came even close to it died. Resultantly, while there were around half a dozen corpses found around the house in a single night, it was Ragini who came out alive with no justification whatsoever being given.

'I know where you are coming from and I won't deny that perhaps the film could have been a little better,' says Kainaz in a soft tone, 'But then no film is ever 100% perfect. You can't please them all, right? I truly believe that what we eventually achieved was something good and also commercial. Also, technically it did create a new genre. So no, I am not at all upset with the way the film has done. In fact I am quite ecstatic, now that the sequel of the film has been announced as well.'

Hope at least this time around one gets answers to all the questions instead of the open ending that the first in the series had.
