Anil-John starrer SOAW to be a 'jaw dropping affair'

SHOOTOUT AT WADALA is being designed as one of the major biggies of 2012 even as it continues to see an enhancement in scale, grandeur and a massive star cast. With such a huge challenge set for himself, director Sanjay Gupta, who would be making his comeback as a director after half a decade, is pulling all stops when it comes to getting the writing right. Forever being termed as someone who has a great eye for style, with SHOOTOUT AT WADALA he wants to make sure that the substance compliments the kind of style he has designed for his gritty affair.

"Trust me, you would be shocked to see what really led to the birth of so-called police encounters in Mumbai, what really propelled it, what was behind it and what really led to it taking such an ugly shape over the decades gone by," Sanjay says, "When audience will see all this suspense unfold, it would be a jaw dropping affair for all."

All of this means that Sanjay and his team is following a no-compromise approach when it comes to keeping the film as attached to reality as possible.

"Everything about the film here is going to be closest to reality with as many non-fictional episodes as possible. For that there is some massive preparation happening. We are going through police files and also meeting people who have been lodged in jails for decades," says Sanjay, "As an audience, I would suggest that your first and foremost expectation from the film should be to get ready for a thriller which is real, surprising as well as shocking."

While Anil Kapoor and John Abraham have already been finalised for the film, talks are also on with Vivek Oberoi, Vidya Balan and Naseeruddin Shah to enact pivotal characters in SHOOTOUT AT WADALA.
